At this point the County Council will ask for letters of support and objection, they will provide a case number for the appplication and a case officer who is dealing with it. IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT ONLY LETTERS/EMAILS SENT IN AFTER THAT DATE WITH REFERENCE TO THE APPLICATION AND NUMBER WILL BE CONSIDERED BY THE PLANNING COMMITTEE So if you write just one letter or email, that is the one to write! |

We also need you to contact your own local MP and Councillors in Northampton to tell them what you think and ask them to commit themselves to opposing this plan.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT MP's and COUNCILLORS DECLARE WHETHER THEY ARE WILLING TO SUPPORT OUR OPPOSITION. SITTING ON THE FENCE OR REFUSING TO SAY ONE WAY OR THE OTHER IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
The only Councillors who may reserve comment or not pass judgement are those who may sit on a Planning Committee of either the Borough or County Councils, and who would be disbarred from taking part if they expressed a prior opinion.

We are also writing to Councillors and the Council asking them their opinion as to which Council should deal with the Planning application. The County Council have decided that as the Waste Management Authority it should be them. But issues related to noise, traffic, air pollution and visual impact are more relevant to the Borough Council and we feel they should be dealing with this. Also there will supplementary planning issues related to the laying of the energy lines and heating pipes throughout the town. These definately should be heard by the Borough Council.
BUT WE HAVE NOW SEEN EVIDENCE THAT THE COUNTY COUNCIL HAS ADVISED THE DEVELOPER THAT THEIR PLANNING CONSULTANTS CAN SUBMIT THESE SEPARATE PLANNING APPLICATIONS TO THEM FOR OUTLINE APPROVAL AVOIDING THE BOROUGH COUNCIL'S PLANNERS
It is clear that their are differences of opinion between the two planning authorities and we need to expose these. We need to ensure that all stages we challenge, question and if neccasary disrupt the process. If, or it seems due to the County Council's collusion, this application is approved, we will be calling in the decision in, we will not stop fighting them. We want to stop the planning application being approved if we can we will, if not we will appeal, if we fail there we will refer it to the Secretary of State, if we fail there we will campaign and disrupt the construction, if we fail there we will campaign and disrupt the operation.
